What’s Stopping You From Thriving?

So often, we have an idea, goal or dream that means so much to us yet we just aren’t making meaningful progress. When we stall, our instinct is to blame ourselves – if we would just try harder or want it more, things would be different. Maybe.

Or, maybe it’s because we are focusing on changing the wrong thing. We are surrounded by messages, like “5 ways to be more productive” or “3 things every millionaire does before breakfast”, trying to tell us we can be better if we just change our habits. Those are skillsets.

New skillsets are fantastic – but you won’t get far if you still haven’t changed your mindset.

Mindset Matters

Whether you make progress on your idea, goal or dream is dependent on your mindset. You can have all the skills in the world, but they won’t mean anything if your mind isn’t along for the ride.

The only way to get unstuck is to get your mind right.

Using the Immunity to Change™ framework, Catherine guides individuals through a process to uncover and address what is getting in the way of meaningful change.

This is an illuminating process developed over 20 years by Robert Kegan and Lisa Lahey, professors in the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University. It uncovers the hidden ways we are keeping ourselves from accomplishing personal goals.

Using a four-step process called an Immunity Map, individuals discover the invisible system at play that is keeping them from reaching their improvement goals. Much like our body’s immune system, it works hard under the surface to keep us safe and away from harm. However, much like an autoimmune disease, sometimes the immune system gets it wrong and does more harm than good.

After completing the Immunity Map, the real work begins to overturn the system by identifying when faulty mindsets are at play. Through correcting these limiting beliefs, individuals can make lasting positive change.

It’s not a quick fix. It will, however, bring to light the unconscious ‘immune system’ that is trying to protect us but actually holding us back from thriving.
